I’ve been really liking these 2nd gen T/As recently so I’m just curious which of the bumpers oppo prefers. A ranked list is preferable.
EDIT: Wow I didn’t realize my preferences are also in chronological order.
1. 1970-1973
2. 1974-1976. Like the earlier model but softer and raked back
3. 1977-1978. Instantly recognizable
4. 1979-1981. Looks strange with the quad lights and no central grille

1, 3,2,4 for me though I wouldn't kick any of them out of the garage.

Definitely the first one, but give me some stock rims and a snarly small block V8.

I agree but the 70-76 have to be Formula models with the snorkel scoops. So sexy. My first car was an 81 and I loved it but yeah. The nose was odd

Since I had a 71 Formula I am biased. The 70-73 front end is the best! (1)
Nobody likes the 74-76 Snowplow front end. (4)
77-78 are the ones everyone associates with Smokey and the Bandit. (2)
79-81 are the end of the era, and the last V8s before the chevy V8s... (3)

I like the original one, makes the car look much more muscle-y.
A 74-76 Formula wouldn’t be unwelcome in my driveway though

4, 1, 2, 3 for me.
The 4th facelift is just so white trash glorious. That car screams mulleted ‘murican glory
The OG you just never see these days, and I love dat front overhang.
The 2nd facelift has the fact that it isn’t the 3rd one going for it
And the 3rd facelift is just so goddamn played out

IMO the #3 (77-78) only looks good in the Bandit paint scheme.

Yup, my descending order rankings go in ascending order. 1 is best because it’s the original pure design; it doesn’t have to have fender flares and a screaming chicken to look good. 2 is a neat blend of the first and third, and I lke the front end. Three is overdone and only looks good on snowflakes, and Pontiac had just given up when they got to four.
